Really Big Snowflakes!

Yes, we had really big snowflakes yesterday...and we are pretty sure the groundhog was correct about that 6 more weeks of winter!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day... a perennial favorite. This year we used our cursive!

Merry Christmas!

St. Lucia Day

We learned about the Swedish custom of St. Lucia. She was a wealthy girl who wanted to help the poor. She even wore candles on her head so her hands would be free to serve the poor when it was dark.
The custom is for the oldest girl in a family to serve her family breakfast rolls. The boys assist as "Star Boys." We made orange rolls as a class and served the faculty!(They plan on it every year!)

It's Halloween!

Oh, Halloween...anybody notice how many more black costumes show up in the third grade? The princesses, clowns, and unicorns just begin to lose their "cool factor" when you're 8 years old!

The Treehouse Museum

It's a long time in coming, but here are some photos from our fall field trip to Treehouse Museum in Ogden, Utah. This is the lucky grade that got to go twice, last year seeing a special traveling exhibit called "Jump to Japan." This year we learned about fairy tales! Enjoy!
